Our desire is to create elegant stationery and homeware accessories that touch on the nostalgia of our past to evoke memories and add a little art to your everyday. Since our launch, we’ve had the privilege of attending Top Drawer London and RHS Chelsea Flower Show, as well as winning awards at the London Stationery Show in 2017 and 2018.
Our world is full of art prints, greeting cards, wrapping paper, flat notes, tea towels, mugs and tote bags, just to name a few. Run on creative passion, our business ethos keeps in mind the importance of family and the planet.
About Laura
Laura Stoddart knew that she wanted to be an illustrator by the time she was eleven years old. Her mother and great aunt were both illustrators so in some ways you could call it the family business. But it wasn’t until she went to art school in Brighton, followed by a masters at the Royal College of Art, that she began to develop her own unique style. Inspired by nature, antiques and certain periods of fashion, she is particularly known for her exquisitely dressed figures carrying giant flowers and outsized objects such as balloons and presents.
Her very first commission after leaving the Royal College in 1996 was to illustrate the Royal Mail Christmas stamps, the youngest professional artist ever to do so. As a freelancer, she went on to create instantly recognizable images for clients such as Crabtree & Evelyn, Gardens Illustrated, Vogue Entertaining, Kate Spade, Portmeirion, the RHS and Unicef, before setting up her own company in 2016.
Laura lives on the Devon/Somerset border with her husband, also an artist, their two children, two Bedlington terriers, Birdie and Violet, and a cat called Dot. When she’s not working, she can often be found trying to tame the somewhat wild garden around her house or rooting around local antique markets for items to add to her many collections.
About Us
Laura Stoddart founded her company in 2016 in order to design her own products – the perfect mug, great quality tea towels and superior stationery. Having started with just three ranges and a limited number of lines, we have since grown to include greetings cards, wrapping paper, mounted prints and paper napkins and have nine different collections, including a Christmas range. We have also won multiple awards for our stationery and garnered a pleasing amount of press coverage. Being both sustainable and local has been important to us since day one and almost all of our products are made in the UK, using sustainable packaging wherever possible. Our headquarters are now in a barn conversion in deepest Somerset where you will find a small but dedicated team of fabulous women.
